In 1928 Joseph Urban originally designed a skyscraper for the headquarters of Hearst Magazines at 57th Street and Eighth Avenue. Owing to the Great Depression, only the six-story cast stone base was completed. In 2006 a 46-story tower designed by Norman Foster was added. Foster retained the landmarked façade but had the interior gutted and overhauled. Below, some views of a genial meeting of two master builders. More views to follow.
